  1. Tivoli – It’s the second oldest amusement park in the word and is generally agreed to be the epicenter of all things hyggelie (cosy in English). Tivoli is located a mere 5 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride from Copenhagen Backpackers.
  2. Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek – This beautiful building with its stunning winter garden would be worth a visit in and of itself, but it’s also brimming with amazing antiquities from Egyptian mummies, Roman relics to a vast array of French sculpture and works from Picasso. The museum is only 8 min from here by foot and 3 by bike.
  3. Rundetårn – This iconic tower lies in the heart of the city and offers spectacular views from its observation deck. It is the oldest functional astronomical observatory in Europe and one of the oldest in the whole world. During the winter season, you can take a look through a telescope that many eyes have looked through since it was installed in 1681. It’s a 15 min walk or a 6 minute bike ride from Copenhagen Backpackers.
  4. Louisiana – It’s the most visited art museum in all of Denmark and one of the premier modern art museums in the world. It is situated in a beautiful location on the Øresund and has an enchanting sculpture garden. Its permanent collection is stunning and the rotating exhibits are always well curated. It often has events, too. Take the S-train to the Humlebæk Station and it’ll take you 1 hour. Be adventurous and bike along the picturesque coastline and it will take you 2 hours.
  5. Animal lovers? Take a look at the Copenhagen ZOOor Northern Europe’s largest aquarium ‘Den blå planet‘ (The blue planet) by the airport.Or take a walk inDyrehaven – Copenhagen’s “Central Park”. 40 minutes by S-train to Klampenborg station or 45 minutes on bike.
  6. Stroll Istedgade just around the corner from Copenhagen Backpackers – This is THE place to sample well-brewed coffee at hip cafes, find treasure in its many shops, peek into a gallery or three, eat in one of its cafes and restaurans and, best of all, meet the Danes. We’re practically on top of Istedgade so it’s 1 minute walking.
  7. Strøget – This is one of the longest outdoor pedestrian malls in the whole world and is the main shopping street in Copenhagen. It starts at Rådhuspladsen and ends at Kongens Nytorv, two of the loveliest squares in town. Here you also find Nyhavn, a great place to grab af beer and a ‘gløg’ by the harbor and enjoy the view. Metro to Kongens Nytov or walk by Strøget.The streets to the sides of Strøget offer shopping options that are hipper and more eclectic than the main street. Strøget is 10 a minute walk by foot or a 3 minute bike ride away from Copenhagen Backpackers.
  8. Walk on Kastellet and see the Little Mermaid if you must. Walk by Amalienborg where the Queen stays. Start at Østerport (S-train) and walk to Kongens Nytov (Metro) or walk by Strøget home to CPH-BP.
  9. Walk or run by the 4 Central lakes of Copenhagen and get lost in fun Vesterbro, Nørrebro or old central Copenhagen.
